Pastors Message

Now we know the love of God. Now we know that God is working all things together for good. Now we know that nothing can separate us from the merciful love of Christ. Now we can face everything that life brings to us. Now we can live in joyful victory, in the fullness of all of creation, in the eternal love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord! Now we can give thanks to God for all, in all, and through all—unconditionally and forever.”

After nearly forty years as a parish pastor in the United Methodist Church and nearly 15 years as a hospice chaplain, I have been comfortable using this benediction at the close of my services to summarize the theme of my faith and the love of my heart. As a theological student of both Conservative Evangelical and Liberal Christian theology, I have sought to affirm a diversity of perspectives of faith. As a contemplative mystic, I have been most at home with seeking to know better the gracious, transcendent, merciful love of God for all people. I believe that God alone knows and reveal the Eternal Gospel of divine love and purpose for all as God has called each one from before the beginning and given a purpose and a promise of grace to fulfill God’s eternal work of good in and through all. The Gospel is summarized in knowing and being known by God, by loving and being loved by God, and revealing God’s truth and love to all.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I welcome all to come and seek to know and to love God more and to share God’s love for all.
